PRICE: $75

I have just ten (10) Artist Proof Prints available for sale. Due to demand and technical concerns with my web store, I am trying something a little different this time. I will draw 10 names at random to decide who will have access to purchase the print. Not the best solution, I know. But it’s the most fair way to distribute these prints and to avoid a technical disaster which can be frustrating for everyone.

Here’s what you have to do if you want to be considered for the drawing…

  • Send an email to batman@jmaruyama.com
  • The Subject line must only say BATMAN. If there’s anything more or less in the subject line, the email will not be considered for the drawing.
  • Include your full name and shipping address so I can calculate shipping costs and provide a total should your name be selected.
  • Prints ship to U.S. addresses only. If the shipping address you provide is not within the United States, you will not be considered for the drawing.

Please make sure you follow all the steps listed above. If you don’t follow the steps mentioned above, you will NOT be entered into the drawing.

I will accept email entries until 11:59 PM PST on Friday, July 21. One entry per household. Ten (10) winners will be drawn at random and emails will be sent out at 9am PST on Saturday, July 22nd. You must be around to respond to your email at that time. You will have the option to purchase just one print. Multiple purchases will not be available.

The price of the print is $75.00 Plus Shipping.

Payment will only be accepted by PayPal – no exceptions. I will provide payment information in the email I send out to the those selected for the sale. If for any reason, a purchase falls through, I will draw an additional name.

If you have any questions, please include them in your email.

This is an officially licensed print created exclusively for Bottleneck Gallery.

Thank you for your interest and good luck!

BTAS: Eyes On Gotham

Eyes on Gotham by Jerrod Maruyama Fine art giclée 16 x 20 inches Hand-numbered edition of 100 $40

Eyes on Gotham by Jerrod Maruyama
Fine art giclée
16 x 20 inches
Hand-numbered edition of 100
$40

I was thrilled to create this tribute to Batman The Animated series for Bottleneck Gallery. This image is officially licensed by Warner Bros. and will be available for purchase beginning Thursday, July 6th at the Bottleneck Gallery website.

As many of you know, I lost my best friend Derek Korbel in June of this year. Derek and I were both huge fans of this animated take on Batman. We would frequent Toys R Us and drug stores to find the action figures. We collected the comic books and even the trading cards. We were a bit obsessed to say the least. I had finished this print a while ago and was going to surlogoprise Derek with one upon its release. I was so excited to work on this project and equally excited to share this with him. While he was always very complimentary about my Disney work, I know he would have been very excited for this one. I’m sad he’s not around to see this.

As a tribute to the memory of my friend, I will donate a portion of my proceeds from the sale of this print to Derek’s family. It’s a small gesture but a fun one. It seems fitting to connect the release of this image with his memory.

So, if you would like to support Derek’s family or if you’re just a fan of Batman The Animated Series, I hope you will head on over to the Bottleneck Gallery website and purchase a print.

From Anaheim to Alhambra

HangingAtSams_DisplayI had a busy couple of days in Southern California last week. Got a jump start on the weekend by spending all day Friday in Disneyland. Had a great time showing my friends around the parks. They came all the way from Minnesota! Nothing is more fun than watching kids experience Disneyland for the first time. Everything is new again.

On Saturday, I had a signing event at WonderGround Gallery. Enjoyed a quick lunch with artists Jared Andrew Schorr, J. Scott Campbell and Jasmine Becket-Griffith immediately following their very busy event. Then it was back to the gallery to meet some fantastic guests and sign my work for them. Had a great turn-out. Sold out the entire stock of the Happy Haunts deluxe prints. More will be available soon. Check the gallery for availability.

It’s always such a pleasure to get to talk to guests of the gallery. They have such nice things to say and it’s a great source of inspiration for me. These signings are one of the best parts of working with WonderGround. As always, the cast members made it a smooth and enjoyable experience. Theirs is not an easy job and I am so grateful for their efforts to make these appearances run like clock work. My thanks to everyone involved!

Gallery Nucleus – The Physics of Friendship: A Tribute To The Big Bang Theory

After WonderGround, I went directly to Gallery Nucleus for the opening of The Physics of Friendship: A Tribute To The Big Bang Theory. I have two pieces in the show, which runs through November 10th. Arrived a little early to do some fun press pictures, a few interviews and (of course) a little shopping. This was the first Gallery Nucleus show I attended and it was impressive. In addition to all the great art, they featured some fun props from the show and a few great activities – including a make-your-own Penny Blossom! I had a great time and it’s always fun to meet the other artists in the exhibit. My thanks to Wade Buchanan for a great evening. It was a thrill to be a part of a Gallery Nucleus show! Visit the Gallery Nucleus website for information on purchasing prints from the show.

Comic Con & The Big Bang Theory

Signing at the Huckleberry booth – Comic Con 2013 (Photo by Jian Shen of BEARO)

Had a fantastic week in San Diego, attending Comic Con for the very first time. It was a thrill to see my work displayed at the massive Warner Bros. booth on the show floor. They featured all the art from the exhibit on the walls of their gigantic set-up. My image even flashed across the many video screens they had up displaying all the different franchises they were featuring. As part of The Big Bang Theory artist series, we were invited to attend the very cool Warner Bros. party atop San Diego’s Hard Rock Hotel. This was an invitation-only event celebrating WB Television and 75 years of DC Comics. Lots of industry folks and celebrities were on hand and we even got to shake hands with a few of them. Said hello to Kevin Bacon (The Following), Topher Grace (That 70’s Show), Aaron Eckhart (Harvey Dent in The Dark Knight), Micheal Emerson (Person of Interest and LOST), Maggie Q (Nikita) and the Man of Steel himself, Henry Cavill. Took a photo with Supernatural‘s Jared Padalecki and Paul Wesley of The Vampire Diaries. We were star struck to say the least. My thanks to the great folks at Warner Bros. for inviting me to participate in this art show and including us in the big soiree.

My thanks to Huckleberry for selling prints from the show. Got to spend some time with the super-talented Martin Hsu who also has a fantastic piece on display. Thank you to everyone who came by to say hi and purchase a print. I hope to know more about the availability of these prints now that Comic Con has ended. I’ll post more about here once I know if and when it will be available online.
