WonderGround Artist Showcase

I will be returning to WonderGround Gallery on Saturday, September 19th to debut some brand new art – including the latest Hipster Mickey piece. I’ll be appearing along side fellow artists Kristen Tercek and John Coulter from 3:00pm – 5:00pm.

“Monorail Mouse” captures Hipster Mickey near the Submarine lagoon trying to catch a selfie with the iconic Monorail speeding by in the background. “Courting Minnie” is a romantic piece with Mickey and Minnie all decked out for a night at the parks. For those of you who couldn’t make it the D23 Expo this year, “Kingdom of Cute” is now available at WonderGround Gallery.

Hope to see you at this special event.

Excited to announce that I will be returning to WonderGround Gallery in June! Hipster Mickey and Minnie join in on the 60th Anniversary Celebration at the Happiest Place on Earth in the latest addition to the Hipster Mickey line “Hipsters Forever”. “Hipsters Forever” will be available as a limited edition canvas and deluxe print. It will debut at the gallery on Saturday, June 13th. I’ll be there from 11:00am – 1:00pm. Come by and say hello!

May The 4th Be With You

Happy Star Wars Day 2015! It’s a great time to be a Star Wars fan. With a new season of Rebels out in June, Episode VII: The Force Awakens due in December and Rogue One planned for 2016, there’s much to be excited about. This year, I chose to pay tribute to Rey and her weird, ice cream bar-shaped speeder. Can’t wait to find out more about who she is. Skywalker? Solo? Time will tell.

May the force be with you… always!

The Oscars – 2015

PrintBest of luck to Disney’s Big Hero 6 and Feast at the Oscars on Sunday night. Big Hero 6 has been nominated for Best Animated Feature along with How To Train Your Dragon 2, Song of The Sea, The Boxtrolls and The Tale of the Princess Kaguya. An impressive list of nominees and a rare year without a Pixar film in the mix. Feast has been nominated in the best Animated Short category along side The Dam Keeper, Me and My Moulton, A Single Life and The Bigger Picture.

The Academy Awards air live this Sunday on ABC.

Star Wars Awakens At WonderGround Gallery

MayTheForceBeWithYou_FINAL_REVISED[1]Disney’s WonderGround Gallery has made so many of my dreams come true. Working with Disney characters, seeing my images sold in the gallery and having my artwork featured on Disney pins are all goals achieved thanks to the great folks at WonderGround and Disney. And now I am so grateful to them for making yet another dream of mine come true.

This January, I will have new Star Wars art featured in the gallery. Star Wars has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. The films, toys and spin-offs have entertained and inspired me since first seeing A New Hope in theaters in 1977. With new films on the horizon and Star Wars mania working itself into a frenzy once again, I am honored to be able to pay tribute to these timeless characters with my artwork.

I will be appearing at Disney’s WonderGround Gallery on Friday and Saturday – January 16th and 17th from 6-8pm. Read about the event on Disney’s Blog.

This just also happens to be the weekend of Disney’s Star Wars Half Marathon. So, if you’re in town for the race, drop on by the gallery Friday and Saturday to check out all the new art and merchandise.

‘Hipster’s Life’ Debuts At WonderGround Gallery

DisplayHad another fantastic signing event at Disney’s WonderGround Gallery. The latest in the Hipster Mickey line – A Hipster’s Life For Me – debuted at the gallery this past Saturday, November 8th. Disney was kind enough to invite me back for a special appearance to celebrate this new release. In addition to the deluxe prints and canvases, there was a new men’s shirt, Hipster Mickey mini-buttons, a new Castle Coffee Break spiral journal and a Date Night Compact!

It’s always a pleasure to meet the Disney fans who come out to the events. I am so appreciative of your efforts to be at the gallery when I visit. Thank you for your kind words and generous support!

Thanks also to the great staff at WonderGround for everything you do – including providing me with a Mint Julep! What a treat.

A few merchandise notes…

  • DATE NIGHT deluxe prints are back in stock.
  • World of Evil Deluxe prints are expected back on the shelves soon.

Dapper Day 2014

DapperDarlingPrint2014_4x9FrontA3WEB800Dapper Day recently held another one of their super-stylish soirees at the Disneyland Resort in Anaheim, CA. I designed a few new characters for some really cool new merchandise created just for the event. This year’s character swag included iPhone cases, a scarf, a pocket square and lots of buttons.

Dapper Day is a tradition that grows larger every year. Beyond the fun of visiting the parks in your finest, the Dapper Day folks had a whole host of fantastic and fashionable things to do at The Grand Californian hotel including the Dapper Day botique featuring vendors selling vintage fashion.  There was a slideshow from the master of all things retro, Charles Phoenix, who presented a special edition of his vintage Disneyland show. That particular presentation sold out days before the event.  My favorite feature was the sketch station, where you could have your look captured in style by actual fashion artists. What a great idea.

The celebration continues tomorrow (Sunday March 9, 2014) at the Magic Kingdom in Walt Disney World in Orlando, FL. The Fall soirees takes place Friday September 12 at the Disneyland Resort (Anaheim, CA), Saturday September 20th at Disneyland Parc (Paris, France) and  Satruday September 27th in Disney’s Hollywood Studios in Walt Disney World (Orlando, FL).

Just added, The Walt Disney Family Museum in conjunction with Dapper Day will host an after-hours party in celebration of their Mary Blair exhibit.

Visit the official Dapper Day site to read more about this fabulous event and to purchase some of the merchandise available in the shop.
