Earlier this year, I had the pleasure of collaborating with the talented Jared Andrew Schorr for Supahcute’s Supah Mash-Up Art Party. Together, we created a few tribute images to the wonderful worlds of Studio Ghibli. We’re continuing that tribute with some new images for Supahcute’s booth at this year’s Designer Con.
Both Jared and I will have a few exclusive pieces available for purchase at the Supahcute Booth (#213). The image shown here, Totoro Garden, will be available as a framed AP and also sold unframed in a limited edition of just 10 prints. All come signed. I will also have a small selection of signed mini-prints available. More images to come. All will be extremely limited and exclusive to the Supahcute booth.
Designer Con takes place November 9th and 10th at the Pasadena Convention Center Exhibit Hall A & B 300 East Green Street Pasadena, CA 91101. Advance ticket purchases are available now. Visit the website for more information about the con.
I had a busy couple of days in Southern California last week. Got a jump start on the weekend by spending all day Friday in Disneyland. Had a great time showing my friends around the parks. They came all the way from Minnesota! Nothing is more fun than watching kids experience Disneyland for the first time. Everything is new again.
On Saturday, I had a signing event at WonderGround Gallery. Enjoyed a quick lunch with artists Jared Andrew Schorr, J. Scott Campbell and Jasmine Becket-Griffith immediately following their very busy event. Then it was back to the gallery to meet some fantastic guests and sign my work for them. Had a great turn-out. Sold out the entire stock of the Happy Haunts deluxe prints. More will be available soon. Check the gallery for availability.
It’s always such a pleasure to get to talk to guests of the gallery. They have such nice things to say and it’s a great source of inspiration for me. These signings are one of the best parts of working with WonderGround. As always, the cast members made it a smooth and enjoyable experience. Theirs is not an easy job and I am so grateful for their efforts to make these appearances run like clock work. My thanks to everyone involved!
Gallery Nucleus – The Physics of Friendship: A Tribute To The Big Bang Theory
After WonderGround, I went directly to Gallery Nucleus for the opening of The Physics of Friendship: A Tribute To The Big Bang Theory. I have two pieces in the show, which runs through November 10th. Arrived a little early to do some fun press pictures, a few interviews and (of course) a little shopping. This was the first Gallery Nucleus show I attended and it was impressive. In addition to all the great art, they featured some fun props from the show and a few great activities – including a make-your-own Penny Blossom! I had a great time and it’s always fun to meet the other artists in the exhibit. My thanks to Wade Buchanan for a great evening. It was a thrill to be a part of a Gallery Nucleus show! Visit the Gallery Nucleus website for information on purchasing prints from the show.
WonderGround Gallery is located in the Downtown Disney® District at The Disneyland® Resort. Gallery Nucleus is located at 210 East Main Street in Alhambra, CA.
I have a brand new set of Halloween-themed stickers available. Facebook and UNICEF have teamed up to bring you this special collection of images that celebrate UNICEF’s long tradition with trick-or-treating. It was an honor to work with this great organization on this set.

Little Big Bang Theory By Jerrod Maruyama – Available 10/19 Gallery Nucleus
As you may remember, I was asked by Warner Bros. to create a tribute to The Big Bang Theory. The art debuted earlier this year at San Diego Comic Con. The image appeared in the special SDCC edition of TV Guide. Now, Warner Bros. has teamed up with Gallery Nucleus to present The Physics of Friendship: A Tribute To The Big Bang Theory. The show will open Saturday, October 19th at 7:00 PM.
Original art and prints will be on sale. Please check with Gallery Nucleus directly for more information on purchasing the artwork. I’ll post more information as it’s made available.
A Gallery Nucleus event is always a special occasion and this show is no exception. They have a ton of fun things planned. If you’re in the area, come by and check out all the art and fun. I feel privileged to have my work shown in this fantastic gallery along side the likes of Jared Andrew Schorr, Joey Chou, Dave Perillo, Cuddly Rigor Mortis, Martin Hsu and many more. Bazinga!
Gallery Nucleus is located at 210, East Main Street in Alhambra, CA 91801.
UPDATE 10/25/13 – According to the Gallery Nucleus website, both framed pieces have sold. Prints may still be available. Contact the gallery for ordering information. (626) 458-7482
Attention Hipster Mickey collectors! As part of my appearance at WonderGround Gallery on October 19th, a very special version of the original Hipster Mickey artwork will be available. This color variant will be available at the gallery for a limited time. There is only one piece available in this extremely limited edition. It doesn’t get anymore “limited” than that! This signed giclee will be a wrapped canvas (21 ½” x 23 ¾”) and will retail for $450.00. Contact me if you have any questions about this very special piece.
In addition to this 1 of 1, I will be debuting two new pieces – Happy Haunts and the latest Hipster Mickey piece Hanging At Sam’s.
I’ll be at the gallery on October 19th from 2 – 4 pm. Come by and say hello!
WonderGround Gallery is located in the Downtown Disney® District at the Disneyland® Resort. You can read more about the event here.
UPDATE 11/12/13: I was notified that the Hipster Mickey one of a kind piece has sold.
A couple of new items have been added to the Disney Store website. You can now order the Hipster Mickey travel mug ($14.95) as well as the Happiest Hipster On Earth limited edition (95) giclee ($175.00). The giclee is a ready to hang, gallery wrapped canvas and comes numbered and signed. Feel free to email me if you have any questions about the items available. You can reach me at firstname.lastname@example.org.
I was honored to be invited to participate in Merveilleux! a new book and accompanying gallery show presented by Galerie Arludik in Paris. The show, which runs from October 3 through November 16, is a collaboration between the gallery and CFSL Ink who will publish the book. You can check it out at their site where it’s currently available for order. You will have to check the website for details on international shipping. Proceeds from the book will be donated to charity.
For this exhibition, artists selected a legend or fairytale to inspire an original piece of art. I chose Hansel and Gretel. The Brothers Grim tale is a dark one and I thought it would be great fun to contrast the (literally) sweet aspects of the story with the ominous turn of events. The print will be available for sale in the gallery and is a signed limited edition of just one. Contact the gallery for details on purchasing.
My thanks to the great folks at Galerie Arludik for inviting me to participate in this really fantastic project. They’ve lined up a great group of artists for this and I am so humbled to be included with them. See all the pieces here!
UPDATE 10/07/13 – My friend Carrie Ferreira Chronert just happened to be in Paris and sent me some pics of the gallery!
