‘Happiest Hipster’ Debuts at WonderGround Gallery

Display1

On Saturday, July 20th, I returned to  WonderGround Gallery in the Downtown Disney® District at the Disneyland® Resort to launch a new series of Hipster Mickey pieces. Happiest Hipster On Earth debuted with a bunch of new merchandise and art options. Check out the new messenger bag, postcard, t-shirt, magnet and a stylish new hat that sports the first Hipster Mickey pin! Finally making it’s debut is the Hipster Mickey iPhone cover (5 & 4s). I’ve had so many requests for this one and it’s been in the works for quite a while so I was so happy to see it in on the shelf. Limited edition giclees in three sizes and deluxe prints are also available. We’ve gone to great lengths to offer several options of this new image so you can find the perfect one for your collection. Keep in mind this is the first in a new series of Hipster Mickey images that will be released every three months and will feature Mickey in front of several iconic Disneyland locations. Right now, you can catch a sneak peek of the next image in the series here.

In addition to the Hipster line, I also debuted two new images for the POP FUSION show – A World of Cute (Deluxe print) and Love in Bloom (Limited edition giclee and deluxe print). There’s a ton of great merchandise now available – including a sparkly women’s tank – with more on the way so stay tuned.

I’d like to once again thank the great folks at WonderGround who make these events run smoothly. I am so grateful for their kindness and generosity. They make every event special and I can’t thank them enough for their efforts. It’s an honor to be a part of this very special gallery. Hope they’ll have me back again soon!

While I was there, I also had the pleasure of speaking with the great folks at The Disney Examiner. They came by and talked to me about my work and inspirations for the artwork on display. They just posted a very generous article and video on their site and I hope you can take a look. It’s a fantastic site run by the kindest, most sincere group of people I’ve had the pleasure of working with. Thanks for coming out, guys!

Comic Con & The Big Bang Theory

Had a fantastic week in San Diego, attending Comic Con for the very first time. It was a thrill to see my work displayed at the massive Warner Bros. booth on the show floor. They featured all the art from the exhibit on the walls of their gigantic set-up. My image even flashed across the many video screens they had up displaying all the different franchises they were featuring. As part of The Big Bang Theory artist series, we were invited to attend the very cool Warner Bros. party atop San Diego’s Hard Rock Hotel. This was an invitation-only event celebrating WB Television and 75 years of DC Comics. Lots of industry folks and celebrities were on hand and we even got to shake hands with a few of them. Said hello to Kevin Bacon (The Following), Topher Grace (That 70′s Show), Aaron Eckhart (Harvey Dent in The Dark Knight), Micheal Emerson (Person of Interest and LOST), Maggie Q (Nikita) and the Man of Steel himself, Henry Cavill. Took a photo with Supernatural‘s Jared Padalecki and Paul Wesley of The Vampire Diaries. We were star struck to say the least. My thanks to the great folks at Warner Bros. for inviting me to participate in this art show and including us in the big soiree.

My thanks to Huckleberry for selling prints from the show. Got to spend some time with the super-talented Martin Hsu who also has a fantastic piece on display. Thank you to everyone who came by to say hi and purchase a print. I hope to know more about the availability of these prints now that Comic Con has ended. I’ll post more about here once I know if and when it will be available online.

Little Big Bang Theory – Comic Con 2013

A while back, I was asked to contribute a piece of art inspired by THE BIG BANG THEORY. I came up with “Little Big Bang Theory” (right) which will debut at San Diego Comic Con this week. The image will be available on limited edition prints through HUCKLEBERRY (Booth#3449). I’ll be signing the prints there on Friday July 19th. All seven pieces in the show will be on display at the Warner Bros. booth (#4545).  Come by and say hello if you’re at the con this year. This is my first time attending and I couldn’t be more excited. Hope to see you there.

My sincere thanks to the team at Warner Bros. who put this show together. It was a fun project to work on. Thank you for inviting me to participate.
