Pop Fusion at WonderGround Gallery

A World of Cute – Available at WonderGround Gallery

June 15th saw the debut of the third show at WonderGround Gallery.  The POP FUSION show featured brand new artwork from Dave Quiggle, Michelle Romo and Liana Hee. And that was just the beginning. Instead of debuting all the new art at once, the gallery has decided to stagger the release of new pieces. New artwork from Jeff Granito, Jeremiah Ketner, Noah, Daniel Samakow and Kristin Tercek will debut on Saturday, July 13th. Make sure to check out all these great artists.

I’ll have two new pieces in this show – Love in Bloom, featuring Mickey and Minnie, and A World of Cute. ‘World’ features a big batch of Disney characters – including ones we don’t get to see that often. It’s a fun piece and one of my personal favorites. Both images will be featured on a variety of products and will debut July 20th. I’ll be appearing at the gallery that day from 5-7 PM. If you’re in the area, come by and say hello. For you Comic Con attendees, why not make a quick trip down to the Happiest place on earth for a little break from the action?

The new Hipster Mickey piece will also launch on July 20th. There will be a huge assortment of merchandise available to celebrate the kick-off of this new line. More details about the event are available here.

D23 Expo: WonderGround Banners Up For Auction

Earphone Mickey BannerVisitors to the WonderGround Gallery can’t help but notice the huge banners that greet customers as they enter. The huge 7′ x 15″ window decorations feature artwork from the current exhibition and are quite stunning – especially when viewing the gallery at night. Many people have asked me what happens to those things once they come down. Well, I now have the answer for at least a few of them. The banner that featured my Warm Up Mickey artwork from the first show is going up for auction! As part of the festivities for the D23 Expo 2013, Disney will hold a series of silent auctions featuring extremely rare and collectible items from the company’s vaults. Everything from store props to the old Matterhorn cars will be featured. You can read more about the items here. Amy Mebberson‘s Brave banner and Dave Perillo‘s Monsters, Inc. banner will also be available. This particular lot will be available Saturday, August 10th from 8:30 – 10:00 PM. Make sure to check out all the other cool items that will be featured. I’ll be attending the Expo all three days. Hope to see you there. The D23 Expo will take place August 9-11th at the Anaheim Convention Center located right across the street from Disneyland. Advance tickets are currently available.

Facebook Chat Stickers

HappyGoLuckyI was thrilled when FACEBOOK approached me about designing a set of stickers for their Messenger app. Sounded like a fun job. The result is this new set of cutesy images that debuted in the sticker store yesterday afternoon. “Happy-Go-Lucky” is now available for download. And best of all – it’s free. The sticker store can be accessed through your mobile device. You have to have the Facebook Messenger app on your phone. One you launch a chat window you will notice a small, happy face icon towards the bottom of the screen. Tapping that icon will allow you to access the sticker store. I’m sure there are other ways to access the sticker but that’s been the only way I can figure out. If you have suggestions on using the stickers on a computer, let me know.

I am so grateful to Facebook for this opportunity. I have a few more Sticker concepts in the works. I’ll let you know if and when those appear in the store. Thanks for downloading!
